The Crashing Marbles Show

The Guitarist Tunes Up

With what attentive courtesy he bent
Over his instrument;
Not as a lordly conquerer who could
Command both wire and wood,
But as a man with a loved woman might,
Inquiring with delight
What slight essential things she had to say
Before they started, he and she, to play.

I am as easily motivated as I am distracted

"I consider my ability to arouse enthusiasm among my people the greatest asset I possess, and the way to develop the best that is in a person is by appreciation and encouragement."

The Humor of Baseball

Here are some awesome quotes from baseball great, Yogi Berra.

"This is like deja vu all over again."

"You can observe a lot just by watching."

"You've got to be very careful if you don't know where you're going, because you might not get there."

"Nobody goes there anymore; it's too crowded."

"It's never happened in the World Series competition, and it still hasn't."

"You should always go to other people's funerals; otherwise, they won't come to yours."

Einstein

As far as the laws of mathematics refer to reality, they are not certain; and as far as they are certain, they do not refer to reality.

Mary Dixon's Poem

Once There Were Daffodils
by Mary Dixon

Once there were daffodils high on the hill
And the lawn grew right to the door.
Now there's nuthin' but weeds and wild dill
Daffodils don't grow anymore.
Buds bloomed each year with never a pause
You were the flower, you were the cause,
You were sunshine and misty rain
You were the comfort to all my pain.
Once there was a woman, my wife,
Whose laughter I never did save,
Now I'll be lonely the rest of my life,
Daffodils gone -- except on her grave.

Country Music

Country Music

I like Garth Brooks
I wish I could sing like him
But masculinity is unfair
It intoxicates some with ignorance
And graces them with power
And finds them love and satisfaction
While some are given just enough
To grow chin stubble,
To ponder the intricacies of humanity,
Just enough to be horrified by the truth
But not enough to start a fight
To grab and squeeze,
To take what isn't ours,
Not enough to sing like a cowboy

Dodgeball Action Photos

Dodgeball is serious. People still think it's a fun game for kids, but when you're in there and it's them out or you... well someone's gotta get out. It ain't me that's all I'm saying.

Here are some pictures I took when I got out:

Look, they're not fucking around.

Mike and Josh stood there like that for more than ten minutes, it was the most intense standoff I've ever seen. Put that Clint Eastwood bullshit away cuz this is the real deal, cowboy.

One of the blue balls turned red after being soaked by so much blood. Here Ken is using it for another kill.

Tatiana's smiling face indicates her happiness with being greeted by such a noble death.

They invited me back for more dodgeball next Sunday. I guess they're running out of players.

Not Dying

I introduced myself

My life is now your prime time television network, except with just a few differences:

  • It's not comedy central because it's not that funny.
  • It's not cartoon network because you can't watch anime on it at night.
  • It's not nickelodeon or the disney channel because it's old enough to wear makeup.
  • It's not turner classic movies because it lacks sophistication.
  • It's not the discovery channel because none of the photographs will be of anything interesting.
  • It's not NBC because there's not enough reality involved.
  • It's not FX because it's not manly enough.
  • It's more like KPBS if it were just me in control, without all the kids shows in the morning.

Well, stay tuned then.
